In all cases, the Coax indicator light was green and in the second test, we had internet connectivity with essentially no loss in speed. The direct-connect test succeeded, as did the test to have the MoCA adapters just a splitter jump away. We finally got a chance to try out your recommendations. You may want to either isolate the Hitron feed from the rest of the coax plant, or install a separate MoCA filter on the Hitron’s coax port, to protect the Hitron from MoCA signals. I believe the Hitron model listed is DOCSIS 3.1 and may have issues if/when MoCA signals are present on the coax plant. The Hitron is a cable gateway, not just a simple modem, so have you configured it in “bridge mode,” effectively rendering it a modem? The adapters should at least be able to support this link, and you can confirm via the status LEDs and an Internet speed test from the PC/laptop. What are the symptoms? What do the status LEDs or MoCA stats indicate? As far as troubleshooting, the first thing to do is bring both MoCA adapters to the modem/router location and direct-connect their coax “In” ports using a single coax cable keep the one MoCA adapter connected via Ethernet to your router LAN, but connect the other adapter to the Ethernet port of a laptop, PC or some other device that you can use to test this simple physical connection. Your problem description lacks any specific symptoms of your issue, aside from stating not having Internet connections on the MoCA adapters, which is ambiguous. so there’s no way to judge if the rooms are even interconnected, let alone whether the connecting component(s) are MoCA-friendly/-hostile. The diagram looks OK Re: what it shows however, your description and diagram lack the critical details of how the rooms/locations connect to each other and the signal source, including via what specific components. u/RoweDent created this awesome resource on network theoryĬoncerns/thoughts Re: your setup/diagram: u/tht1kidd_ has created a suggestion post regarding information everyone needs to provide when asking a question about their network There have been some excellent guides written in this sub, and we're always looking for more!
